On Monday, Mukhtar Al-Naqasa, the Government of National Accord (GNA) member of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC), said that they are in the final stages of the implementation of the Sirte agreement.

Another meeting is due to be held within two weeks. He also specified that the opening distance of the coastal road will not exceed 5 kilometres south of the road, as a preliminary stage.

The subcommittee formed by the two parties to the conflict will includes eight officers. They, along with international observers, will handle the process of withdrawing mercenaries during the next stage. These details are to be discussed at the upcoming meeting.

The JMC agreed last Thursday, at its permanent headquarter in Sirte, to expel all foreign forces.
They also agreed to assemble mercenaries at specific points, in preparation for their departure from Libya. The competent committees will undertake the task of providing security to protect citizens during the mercenaries’ departure.
