The Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, has paid an official visit to Paris, at the invitation of France. He is due to discuss mutual security concerns with French officials.

During his visit, the Libyan minister will hold meetings with French political and security officials, as well as meetings with French security companies. The statement did not mention the date of the visit.

“The visit aims to strengthen joint cooperation on the security field, especially combating terrorism and organised crime,” the statement explained.

On Tuesday, Bashagha met with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Jose Sabadell. They discussed joint cooperation in “migration, combating terrorism, organised crime, and training programs that the European Union could provide to the Ministry of the Interior to raise the efficiency of security personnel.”
