Libya GNA Prime Minister Al-Sarraj Reviews Preparations to Face Covid-19

Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj of the Government of National Accord (GNA) reviewed the Libyan health sector’s preparations to confront the COVID-19 virus (commonly known as Coronavirus).

Al-Sarraj met with Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed bin Omar, who is heading the Supreme Committee to Confront Coronavirus, and Dr. Ayman Saif Al-Nasr, the head of the Environment & Health Committee of the Libyan Parliament. Fifteen senior physicians were also present.

The meeting focused on the conditions of public hospitals and field hospitals in the context of the national strategy developed by the Ministry of Health to prevent an outbreak of Covid-19.

Al-Sarraj also reviewed new measures such as the state of diagnostic laboratory devices, isolation facilities and quarantine sites.
