The Judicial Police Authority in Tripoli, headed by Abdel Ghani Al Harati, announced that the Reform and Rehabilitation Institution had released 82 prisoners. The decision comes amid efforts to reduce the number of prisoners to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in the country, which is transmitted through close contact.

The prisoners will undergo a comprehensive medical examination before being released, said Al Harati. The Institution clarified in a statement that the decision was based on orders by the office of the Public Prosecutor.
