Ageela Saleh Says Interim Government Should be Given Opportunity to Lead Libya

On Sunday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ageela Saleh, stressed that the new interim government should be given the opportunity to lead the country “if it goes as we want.”

Saleh indicated, in a speech to a crowd of his followers in al-Qubbah city, that some members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) nominated him to head the country’s upcoming interim government. This confirmed that he is doing his best to build the capacities of the Libyan army and maintain the peace initiative.

The Speaker pointed out that all foreign forces would leave Libya in the coming few days, noting that the sovereign positions, jobs and oil revenues would be equally distributed among the Libyan people.

Saleh stressed that the country’s eastern region will gain full rights in representing the upcoming cabinet, adding that there will be breakthroughs in the liquidity crisis and a resumption of flights to Libya.

He concluded that the Libyan funds will remain frozen until they are spent to serve the interests of the whole population.

On Friday, Libya’s rival political groups agreed to form an interim government after five days of talks in Switzerland. Mohammed Younes Al-Menfi was elected head of the Presidency Council and Abdul Hamid Dbeibah as its Prime Minister.
