Secretary Blinken Urged to Support Peace Process in Libya

Chairman of the US House of Representatives Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counterterrorism Subcommittee; Ted Deutch urged Secretary of State; Antony Blinken to support the UN-led peace process in Libya.

According to the Libyan Embassy in the US, the letter was signed by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, the Chair of the Subcommittee on Africa, and several Congressmen.

Notably, Libyan Foreign Minister; Najla Al-Mangoush received a telephone call from US Acting Assistant Secretary of State; Joey Hood.

In a tweet, the Embassy said that Hood conveyed his congratulations to the Minister for assuming her new position.

He stressed America’s support for the efforts made by the Government of National Unity (GNU) to lead the country to the December elections, and end all foreign interference.
