On Tuesday, Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba, received the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah to discuss the latest political developments in Libya, and ways of enhancing bilateral relations. Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Mangoush also attended the meeting.

Dbaiba and Al-Sabah also discussed joint cooperation in facing common challenges, especially the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

During his visit Al-Sabah met with the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi to deliver a personal message to him from the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah.

The GNU, which took power in March is meant to bring together a country that has been torn apart by a nearly decade-long civil war, and prepare the country for general elections on 24 December.
