On Saturday, the Libyan embassy in Jordan announced that it has contacted the relevant Jordanian authorities to operate two exceptional flights to Tripoli and Benghazi, calling on citizens wishing to return to Libya to contact the embassy’s consular section by dialling this number: 0788252150.

In a statement, the embassy added that conversations are ongoing between the Jordanian and Libyan authorities to facilitate the operation of two flights to repatriate Libyan citizens, who have previously contacted the embassy and requested to be flown back home. It added that the decision is part of the embassy’s commitment to safeguard the safety of its citizens abroad.

It is noteworthy that the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Libya announced on Saturday the recording of six new cases of coronavirus, raising the number of confirmed cases to 17, including one death.

Dozens of people in Libya are being tested daily, in an attempt to monitor and prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Libyan government has taken a series of stringent precautionary measures, to prevent the spread of virus in the country, notably by imposing countrywide curfews and closing borders.
