Libyan Oil Minister, Mohamed Aoun asked the Prime Minister, Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba to change the board of directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), and assign a new board headed by Taher Al-Qatani.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Oil acknowledged the authenticity of the correspondences that have been circulated on social media.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Aoun said that the current BoD of the corporation was formed “in violation of laws and legislations.” He also recommended that the PM address the “crucial matter as soon as possible.”

Notably, Mustafa Sanalla has served as the chairman of the NOC since May 2014.
