On Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Interim Government Abdullah Al-Thani has discussed the final arrangements for the return of Libyan citizens stranded in several countries as the result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Al-Thani’s remarks came during a meeting held in Benghazi with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Hadi Al-Hawaij, and the Minister of Local Government, Adel Al-Zaidi.

This meeting is part of a series of meetings held by the Prime Minister in order to follow up on the implementation of government measures to combat coronavirus in coordination with the Higher Committee for the epidemic.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reviewed the mechanism of the ministry and its plan to facilitate the procedures for the return of those who stranded abroad.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to coordinate with the Supreme Committee to combat the coronavirus epidemic and mayors of municipalities in Libya to take all necessary health measures towards returnees from abroad.

Finally, the Ministry noted that Libyan citizens returning from abroad would have to self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.

Prime Minister Al-Thani stressed that the Interim Government would work to provide accommodation for those stranded abroad as well as ensure the provision of basic services to them until the crisis ends.
