The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army LNA Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a delegation of tribal elders from Zintan at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi, where discussions focused on national unity, social cohesion, and the role of Libya’s tribes in supporting stability and reconciliation.

During the meeting, Haftar welcomed the delegation and praised the Zintan tribes for their longstanding national role and their contribution to preserving Libya’s unity during difficult periods. He highlighted their history of supporting social peace and their participation in initiatives aimed at strengthening national reconciliation and reinforcing ties among Libyans.

Haftar stressed that national unity remains one of the country’s highest priorities, emphasizing that cooperation between tribal leaders and state institutions is essential for maintaining security, protecting Libya’s sovereignty, and advancing long-term stability. He said preserving social cohesion and encouraging dialogue among all components of Libyan society are fundamental to overcoming political and security challenges.

The Commander-in-Chief also commended the Zintan tribes for their support of reconciliation efforts, describing their role as an important contribution to strengthening the country’s social fabric and promoting peaceful coexistence among Libyans.

For their part, the Zintan tribal elders expressed their appreciation for the meeting and reaffirmed their support for the General Command and the Libyan National Army. They praised the role of the armed forces in strengthening security and stability across the country and emphasized their continued backing for efforts to safeguard Libya’s unity and protect its national resources.

The delegation also underscored the importance of continued cooperation between tribal leaders and national institutions to reinforce stability and support initiatives that serve the interests of all Libyans.
