The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Accord (GNA) announced that it would
start a blood plasma separation program for patients who have recovered from COVID-19.

They are to inject critically ill patients with the virus in a bid to find an effective treatment.

The Ministry said in a statement that the medical team at Tripoli University Hospital will begin the protocol for the plasma operations.

This is after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Medical Ethics Committee and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

The medical team called on patients recovering from the virus to contact the monitoring and
investigation teams of the NCDC to coordinate the donation of plasma.

Plasma treatment has proven effective with patients after its use in several countries. It has been used in Egypt, Poland, and Austria.

Countries such as France, the United States, Switzerland, and China have also authorized the procedure.
