On Thursday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a video conference with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias.

The two discussed the latest regional and international developments, including the current situation in Libya and Turkish actions in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to press sources, Al Nahyan stated that Athens and Rome had demonstrated their commitment to constructive discussions and resolving their maritime issues.

He described the maritime border agreement signed between Italy and Greece as a crucial step to curb human trafficking and smuggling activities in the Mediterranean.

The two sides affirmed the strong ties between the UAE and Greece, as well as mutual interests and political positions for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
