Turkey and Russia Working On Ceasefire in Libya

“We are working with Russia on a ceasefire in Libya,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at a news conference with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif.

“There is no difference of opinion on the main issues between Turkey and Russia regarding the ceasefire in Libya,” Cavusoglu said.

Cavusoglu and Zarif also held talks on developments in Syria, focusing in particular on the situation in Idlib.

This is in light of the recent escalation of fighting in that led to the violation of a ceasefire that had been in place since 6 March.

The ceasefire was part of the Moscow Agreement, signed on 5 March between Turkey and Russia.
