The Syrian government has voiced its support for the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of Libyan territory. This is according to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Walid Al-Muallem, during a press conference.

Muallem added that Syria continues to stand with the Palestinian people. It rejected Israeli plans to occupy the West Bank and stressed that it must withdraw from all occupied Arab lands.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Syria stands alongside Egypt in support of its national security. He explained that the United States was defending Israel’s interests and must leave the area immediately.

He said that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s remarks on the Caesar Act confirms that they do not keep the interests of the Syrian people.

The real goal of the Act was to open the way for the return of terrorism, he claimed. The Minister added that Syria was accustomed to dealing with sanctions.

He stressed that this should be turned into an opportunity to develop the country’s economy, achieve self-sufficiency, and deepen cooperation with allies in various fields.
