The Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, has said that the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) adheres to the Cairo Declaration and the results of the Berlin Conference. This is in favour of a political process to end the crisis in Libya.
Saleh emphasized the Libyan National Army’s role in combating terrorism, mercenaries, and foreign intervention, in addition to establishing itself as the authority for the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration of militias.
Saleh made the remarks during his meeting with the Interim Government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdel-Hadi Al-Hawij, and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Yusef Al-Agouri.
Al-Hawaij emphasized the positive feedback from Arab states in support for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
Al-Agouri stressed the importance of coordination in activating joint action for a comprehensive political settlement that creates law and order and develops state institutions.
At the end of the meeting, Saleh reviewed the results of Al-Hawaij’s recent visit to Moscow and his meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Arab countries. This is in addition to the memorandum presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the recent Arab League meeting.
