The German Embassy to Libya reported in a statement on Tuesday that Berlin has provided more than €280 million in aid to Libya since 2015.

The statement pointed out that Germany is among the chief supporters of the UN political process.

Berlin continues to cooperate with Libyan institutions and civil society groups at all levels to achieve political unity, security and economic stability in the country.

More than €70 million has gone towards supporting primary health care and emergency medical aid.

It has also been used to finance vaccination campaigns for children, support the displaced, and enhance refugee protection.

As a result, Germany has become the largest humanitarian aid donor in Libya.

The statement made clear that German efforts also aim to achieve stability in Libya.

This is to establish a framework for a political solution through the promotion of reconciliation, support institutions, the promotion of decentralization and local governance.

Libya has been suffering escalating violence and chaos ever since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
