Russian Foreign Ministry: Situation In Libya Remains Complicated

Sergei Vasilyevich Vershinin, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the situation in Libya remained very complicated and difficult.

He stressed that Moscow was communicating with all countries that may have an impact on the settlement of the Libyan situation through the United Nations.

Asked whether Russia was communicating with the United States regarding Libya, Vercynin said “We communicate with all parties within the framework of the United Nations, where this issue is discussed. So we communicate with those who have a role in resolving the crisis”.

He added that the US was focusing its efforts to communicate with all parties to achieve an acceptable solution under the auspices of the United Nations.
