SOHR Says Total Number Of Syrian Mercenaries In Libya Has Risen To 15,800

On Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) monitored a new batch of Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries being sent to Libya.

The number of recruits who arrived in Libya has risen to 15,800, of which 5,600 have been returned to Syria.

Turkey continues to recruit fighters to transfer to Libya. In a statement, the SOHR added that Turkey has sent a new batch of Syrian fighters to join the forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA) against the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

Meanwhile, SOHR activists have documented the deaths of a number of Syrian fighters, bringing the number of those killed in Libya to nearly 470. This includes 33 child soldiers and a number of commanders.
