The US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, had a phone call with the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Ageela Saleh, on steps needed to support Libya’s sovereignty, and enable the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to resume its operations at the national level. The two also discussed ways to reach a peaceful and negotiable solution to the Libyan conflict, starting with steps to calm the situation around Sirte and Jufra.

The Ambassador stressed the United States’ rejection of all foreign military interventions in Libya and his country’s full support for the UN-facilitated dialogue.
