The 32nd edition of the “Libya National Award for Quran Memorization and Recitation” and the 4th edition of the “Award for Memorizing the Prophetic Sunnah and Scientific Texts” concluded on Thursday evening in the city of Benghazi, drawing around 160 participants from across the country.

The competitions were organized under the patronage of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Ground Forces and supported by the Libyan Government, reflecting growing national efforts to promote religious values and instill a strong Islamic identity among youth.

In his address at the closing ceremony, Libya’s Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Atef Al-Abidi, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping a generation rooted in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. He emphasized the role of Islamic scholarship in equipping young people to face ideological and societal challenges.

Al-Abidi also urged the participants to reflect on the meanings of the Quran, live by its teachings, and follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad, so they may become beacons of guidance within their communities.

The event was widely praised for fostering a spirit of faith, knowledge, and unity across Libya’s diverse regions.
