Libya’s Al-Sarraj Receives Italian Ambassador in Tripoli

On Monday Fayez Al-Sarraj, Head of Libya’s Presidential Council and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), received the Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Buccino at the Presidential Council’s headquarters in Tripoli.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Ambassador reiterated his country’s support for the GNA and stressed the importance of enforcing UN Security Council Resolution No. 2510 of 2020, which upholds the outcomes of the Berlin Conference.

He also called on all Libyan parties to cease hostilities and commit to a ceasefire agreement in order to protect the lives of Libyan civilians.
