The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced on Friday that it is opening registration for youth from Eastern Libyan cities to participate in an in-person discussion session under the “Youth Participate” program, as part of wide consultations regarding Libya’s political process.
The mission stated that the session will last for one and a half hours and will focus on discussing the options and recommendations presented by the Advisory Committee, as well as listening to the concerns and recommendations from the participating youth.
Registration is open to young men and women aged between 18 and 35 years old, residing in the eastern region of Libya, through an online form before noon on Monday, August 11, 2025.
The UNSMIL clarified that the discussion will take place in two online sessions via Zoom, on Wednesday and Thursday, August 13 and 14, 2025. Participants are encouraged to choose the most suitable time for them.
The mission also emphasized that registration does not automatically guarantee attendance. The selected participants will be contacted after completing the registration process. Further details on additional in-person and virtual consultations will be announced at a later date.
