The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a telephone conversation with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer. They discussed the current health situation in Libya.

Italian Deputy Foreign Minister, Emanuela Del Re, assessed the situation in various crisis theaters, especially in Libya. This came after Maurer’s recent visit to the country, verifying the complex humanitarian situation on the ground. This situation is exacerbated by the impact of COVID-19 on the population.

The media reported that Del Re expressed her awareness of the worsening humanitarian situation and called for the provision of greater assistance to the war-torn country.
