The House of Representatives in Libya has launched a specialized training program for its Security and Safety Department, aimed at boosting employee capacity in risk management and international safety standards.

Held at the HoR’s headquarters in Benghazi, the training is titled “Risk Assessment and Analysis in Accordance with ISO 31000 Standards”, and is organized by the Office of Training and Development at the House’s General Secretariat.

The five-day program is designed to enhance the skills of 15 participating employees, offering 15 hours of intensive training focused on risk identification, mitigation, and international compliance.

Focus on ISO 31000 and COSO

The course includes lectures on the importance and fundamentals of risk management, a comprehensive overview of the ISO 31000 framework, and comparisons with COSO standards. Participants are engaged in practical applications, real-world case studies, and simulation exercises to evaluate risks both before and after implementation.

A Push for Professional Development

The program reflects the ongoing commitment of the House of Representatives to improving institutional performance through upskilling public employees. The training also supports the wider goal of integrating modern security and safety management systems across Libyan institutions.

By implementing internationally recognized frameworks, the program aims to equip staff with the tools needed to manage operational risks more effectively in an evolving political and administrative environment.
