The Development and Reconstruction Fund is continuing the renovation and modernization of the Pediatric Medicine and Surgery Hospital in Benghazi, one of eastern Libya’s most important medical institutions.

The project is part of the Fund’s broader national strategy to upgrade healthcare facilities across the country and ensure high-quality, specialized care for children.

Work at the hospital is progressing rapidly, with engineers and medical planners applying the latest international standards for hospital design and pediatric medicine.

The goal is to transform the facility into a fully equipped, modern medical center that meets global benchmarks for child healthcare.

The project includes comprehensive rehabilitation of medical departments, modernization of infrastructure, and the installation of advanced equipment and digital health systems.

Once completed, the hospital will provide a safe, integrated, and efficient treatment environment for children in need of specialized medical care.

The modernization of the Pediatric Medicine and Surgery Hospital reflects the Development and Reconstruction Fund’s commitment to improving public health services and strengthening the national healthcare network. It aims to expand the hospital’s capacity, enhance the quality of care, and reduce the burden on other health institutions in the region.

The Benghazi hospital, considered a main referral center for pediatric cases in eastern Libya, treats thousands of children each year from Benghazi and neighboring cities.

Over time, its outdated infrastructure and limited capacity have created challenges in meeting the growing demand for specialized services. The new project directly addresses these issues through structural upgrades and improved operational efficiency.
