Libyan Airlines has confirmed that none of the aircraft in its fleet are subject to the emergency technical directive recently issued by Airbus regarding mandatory safety-related updates for certain A320 systems.
Upon receiving the bulletin from the manufacturer, the airline immediately convened an urgent meeting that brought together the technical department, the airworthiness office, and all relevant units, with direct oversight from the general manager and the board of directors, and in full coordination with Airbus engineers.
The company said its internal technical review verified that no aircraft currently operating in its fleet fall under the scope of the directive.
Despite not being affected, several engineers from the airline’s technical department took part in Airbus’s urgent briefing held last night, reflecting Libyan Airlines’ commitment to continuous technical monitoring and up-to-date knowledge, ensuring full alignment with the latest aviation safety developments.
Libyan Airlines reaffirmed its adherence to the highest international air safety standards and its continuous efforts to follow all manufacturer advisories and industry regulations to guarantee safe, reliable operations. It stressed that passenger safety and security remain its top priority at all times.
The clarification comes as Airbus announced one of the largest technical actions in its five-decade history, issuing mandatory global updates for the A320 family—a move that has already prompted some carriers to warn of possible delays or cancellations while the fixes are implemented.
