A new batch of personnel from Libya’s 166th Infantry Brigade has returned to the country after completing an intensive overseas training program in Belarus, according to military sources.

The training program focused on advanced military skills, including special operations and counter-terrorism tactics. Brigade members underwent rigorous drills designed to enhance combat readiness and improve their ability to operate under complex and high-risk conditions, using modern military systems and methodologies.

Officials said the program was part of broader external training initiatives aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of Libyan armed forces personnel. Such programs are intended to equip units with updated tactical expertise and operational flexibility in response to evolving security challenges.

The graduation and return of the newly trained unit fall within long-term plans to modernize Libya’s armed forces and raise overall combat efficiency. Military leadership has repeatedly emphasized the importance of international training partnerships as part of its 2030 vision to develop a more capable, disciplined, and technologically advanced military institution.
