Libya’s Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Greater Benghazi deported nine illegal migrants through Benina International Airport on Monday morning, as part of ongoing efforts to regulate foreign residency and curb illegal migration.
The operation was carried out under instructions from the agency’s leadership and in coordination with the relevant authorities. It included the deportation of seven Bangladeshi nationals and two Syrian nationals.
The agency said the move came within the framework of enforcing laws and regulations governing migration, adding that organised and voluntary deportation procedures would continue in order to strengthen security and preserve public order.
Libyan authorities have stepped up deportation operations in recent months as part of wider measures to address illegal migration, particularly in major cities and border areas.
