Libya has carried out another large-scale repatriation operation, deporting 174 Bangladeshi migrants along with two Pakistani nationals through Benina International Airport, as authorities continue efforts to address irregular migration and enforce immigration laws.
The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency said the deportation was organized by its branch responsible for the operation after completing the required legal and administrative procedures. The migrants were transferred from the agency’s facilities to Benina International Airport before boarding a flight to their countries of origin.
According to the agency, the operation forms part of Libya’s ongoing campaign to repatriate migrants who are residing in the country illegally. Officials said the deportations are conducted under established legal procedures and are intended to support broader efforts to combat irregular migration while strengthening migration management across the country.
The latest operation follows a series of deportation flights carried out by Libyan authorities in recent weeks. Thousands of migrants from Africa and Asia transit through Libya each year, with many seeking to cross the Mediterranean toward Europe through smuggling networks operating along the country’s coastline.
