Libyan karate athlete Youssef Al-Sharaa won the bronze medal after finishing third in the individual kumite competition at the World Championship in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Al-Sharaa competed in the boys’ under-65kg category for athletes aged 16–17, delivering a strong performance against some of the world’s leading young karate competitors.
The event featured 46 athletes from different countries, making the Libyan champion’s podium finish a significant sporting achievement.
His bronze medal adds to Libya’s growing record of success in international martial arts competitions and reflects the progress of the country’s young karate athletes on the global stage.
Al-Sharaa’s performance was praised by Libyan sports followers, who celebrated his ability to secure third place in a highly competitive weight division at one of the world’s major karate tournaments.
