On Friday, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla, received the Executive Director of Operations from the Italian oil company ENI, Alessandro Puliti and his accompanying delegation, at the headquarters of NOC in Tripoli.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of concern, including the activities of the Mellitah Oil and Gas Company (MOGC), and ways to support it to improve its performance. The MOGC supplies gas to many of the power stations in Libya.
Sanalla confirmed that the NOC has started operations in oil fields deemed safe.
He stressed his keenness on providing the appropriate security conditions for the technical staffs who began their duties after the force majeure was lifted.
ENI’s Executive Director for North Africa and the Middle East, Antonio Banza, also attended the meeting.
Since NOC lifted the force majeure last week, it expects the fields to reach production levels of about 260,000 barrels per day over the next week. Notably, Libya’s average daily oil production was more than 1.2 million barrels before the blockade.
