US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry discussed the latest developments in Libya over a telephone call, Shoukry’s media office said in a statement.

The statement added that the two exchanged views on regional and international issues, and discussed ways to advance bilateral relations.
They agreed to continue coordination and consultations on all issues of interest to Egypt and the United States.

Last week, Egyptian President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi received Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba, Prime Minister of Libya’s newly-elected National Unity Government (NUG). El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting Libya, and reiterated Cairo’s readiness to assist, “in a way that contributes to returning Libya on the right track.”
