The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has allocated 75 million Libyan dinars (LYD) for municipalities, local councils and governing committees to confront the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Presidential Council Decision No. 242 of 2020, the amount will be allocated to operations, personal protection and infection control requirements for quarantine and isolation, in accordance with the recommendations provided by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). The fund will also be used to provide sterilizing materials, as well as awareness and training.

Municipalities will need to submit periodic reports to the Committee formed by Presidential Council Decision No. 207 of 2020, as well as to the Ministry of Finance, with complete expenditure reports. The Committee will coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to implement this decision and send financial delegations to the relevant bodies.
