Libyan MP: Turkish Forces Will Leave Libya Sooner or Later

On Monday, Saeed Imghib a member of the Libyan Parliament expressed his complete confidence in the inevitable departure of the Turkish forces and mercenaries from Libya.

In a statement, Imghib said “The Turks will leave sooner or later, and history will write the names of those who fought them and refused their presence in letters of light in the pages of glory and eternity. In return, history will register the names of those who brought them into our country and fought under their banner and made them sit in their homes, in the pages of shame and betrayal.”

The MP’s statements come days after the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Najla Al-Mangoush called on Turkey to withdraw its forces from Libya, and to open dialogue between the two countries in this regard.

Earlier in April, Imghib said that Turkey must remove its forces and mercenaries from Libya if it has a serious desire to seek peace and return its economic and commercial activities to Libya.

In press statements, Imghib said that Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan gambled on the war in Libya but lost, adding that the collapse of his country’s economy will not be saved by the visit of Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba.
