On Sunday, Libya’s Al-Ittihad football club defeated Zanzibar’s KMKM F.C. during the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Mouad Issa scored the first goal before extra time, and Rabie Al-Shadi added the second in the 85th minute.

The two teams will meet again in the second leg in Sfax, Tunisia. Should Al-Ittihad qualify, it would face ES Tunis.

Notably, the CAF delayed Libya’s Al-Ahly game against Sudan’s Hay Al-Wadi to Monday. This came amid complaints by Al-Ahly over the Al-Khartoum stadium pitch and players’ facilities.
