Libya Registers Zero New COVID-19 Cases for Fifth Consecutive Day

On Wednesday, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that Libya had not recorded any new cases of COVID-19 over the past five days, stating that the latest batch of 55 suspected samples had all tested negative for the virus.

Last Thursday, Al Hawari General Hospital in Benghazi announced that four patients that had been receiving treatment for Coronavirus had recovered and that no new cases had been recorded in Libya’s eastern cities.

Also last Thursday, the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord announced the reduction of curfew hours in Libya’s western cities. The new curfew went into effect yesterday, April 28, and will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Libya currently has 61 total cases, including 18 recoveries and 2 deaths.
