Libyan artist Amira has returned to the music scene after a 14 year hiatus, performing her new song “Ghab Aqlha” [Her mind is absent]. The lyrics were written by poet Faraj Balhamad, with Nassif Mahmoud arranging and composing the melody.

Ghab Aqlha is the intro song for the television series “Souk Al-Jarid” that is currently broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan on channel 218.

Talking about her break from the music scene, Amira said “My family, my home, and special social circumstances made me stop, but currently, I am devoted to the arts again. I am now working on a song by one of the giants of Libyan music.”

Amira discussed plans to visit Egypt to record new music once the global COVID-19 crisis ends. She has previously worked with Cheb Jilani, recording the popular song ‘I miss you my love’ in 2003.
