The Special Representative of UNICEF in Libya, Abdel Rahman Ghandour, said that there was an urgent need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of funds to purchase vaccines for children and bridge the current shortage in Libya.

UNICEF reiterated the offer of its procurement services to the government in order to purchase pre-qualified vaccines by the World Health Organization (WHO) at competitive prices and to deliver them to Libya immediately.

The WHO representative in Libya stated that the organisation continues to implement vaccinations, noting that it faces serious obstacles if they ran out of stock, endangering the lives of children.
