On Saturday, the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) announced a three-day public holiday to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr from Sunday May 24 to Tuesday May 26.

The Eid Al-Fitr holiday does not apply to institutions and offices with urgent humanitarian, security and vital services. Employees of these institutions will still have the right to obtain compensation for work carried out during the public holiday.

Eid Al-Fitr is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
