On Sunday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced the death toll of Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries killed in ongoing battles with the Libyan National Army.
The Syrian Observatory has documented the killing of 339 such fighters in Libya, including 20 children under the age of eighteen.
On the other hand, a new batch of hundreds of mercenaries has been transferred from training camps in Turkey to Libya.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of recruits which arrived to Libya has risen to 11,200, while nearly 2,300 others have arrived in Turkey to undergo military training.
It is worth noting that there are 46 Kurds from Afrin, including three children under the age of eighteen, among those who have been recruited by Turkish-backed factions to fight in Libya.
It is believed that there are also thousands of jihadists of non-Syrian origin who have been sent by Turkish authorities to Libya, most of whom are from North Africa.
Meanwhile, the LNA led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar arrested a commander from the Al-Sham Corps, “Mohammed Al-Bowaydani”, with 26 other fighters under his command, most of whom came from Homs, Syria. The arrested commander and his fighters used to operate in Homs and western Qalamoun under the banner of the Al-Kateba Al-Khadraa (Green Battalion) which included many jihadists.
