On Wednesday morning, a gunman opened fire on a father and his four children in the southern city of Taraghin. According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrator is believed to be a member of the Islamic State.

Witnesses confirmed that the murderer entered the Abu Bakr family home and had a conversation with the man. He then opened fire on the father, and the children, killing them. The mother, and two other children were inside the home, unaware of the killer.

The city of Taraghin has suffered from extremist groups for many years. The city’s location in the remote south of the country, has made it a den for terrorists.
