On Saturday, Abdel-Hadi Al-Hwaij, the Libyan Foreign Minister of the Parliament-designate government denounced the recent terrorist attack in Moscow that targeted innocent civilians.

In a statement, the Libyan Minister labeled the act as cowardly and called for an international collective approach to eradicate terrorism. He emphasised that terrorism knows no nationality or religion.

Al-Hwaij extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with the people and government of Russia during this difficult time. He also wished for a speedy recovery for the injured.

He further affirmed his strong condemnation and full rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, stressing its full solidarity with Russia in such delicate circumstances.

Notably, attackers dressed in camouflage uniforms entered the Crocus City venue ahead of the start of a rock concert, opened fire, and threw a grenade or incendiary bomb, killing at least 40 people, according to a journalist for the RIA Novosti news agency at the scene.

The assault was claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group.

This condemnation comes against a backdrop of increasing global concerns over terrorism and its impact on international security. The attack in Moscow adds to a series of global incidents that have prompted calls for stronger international cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

The call by Minister Al-Hwaij for a collective international response highlights the necessity of unified global efforts to address the root causes of terrorism and prevent future attacks. It also reflects the international community’s shared responsibility to safeguard civilians and maintain peace and security worldwide.

As the world grapples with the challenge of terrorism, the solidarity and condolences offered by Libya to Russia underscore the importance of international unity in combating extremism and supporting nations affected by such acts.
