In a significant boost to air travel between Libya and Tunisia, Libyan airline “Medsky Airways,” represented in Tunisia by Stars Company, announced the launch of two new air routes. These routes will connect Mitiga Airport in Tripoli and Misrata Airport with Tunis-Carthage International Airport.

The inauguration of the new Mitiga-Tunis-Mitiga route took place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, followed by the Misrata-Tunis route on Friday, April 5, 2024.

The carrier is set to provide seven weekly flights between Mitiga Airport in Tripoli and Misrata with Tunis-Carthage Airport, offering daily flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and two flights on Tuesday.

The launch of these routes by “Med Sky” enriches the offerings of Libyan airlines to the Tunisian destination and meets the demand of travelers, whether families or professionals moving between the two brotherly countries.

Founded in 2022 by Libyan businessman Mohamed Taher Issa, “Med Sky” operates with a fleet of two Airbus A320 aircraft. These planes facilitate numerous flights from Tripoli, Misrata, and Sabha to destinations like Valletta in Malta, Rome in Italy, Istanbul in Turkey, and now Tunis.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in the airline’s growth and a positive development for bilateral relations, providing both countries’ citizens with more travel options and fostering increased economic and social exchange.
