SOHR’s Head: Turkey uses Tragic Circumstances of Afrin Kurds to recruits them to fight in Libya.

The Director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Rami Abdel-Rahman stated that the pro-Turkish factions were taking advantage of the tragic living circumstances of Afrin Kurdish citizens and recruiting them to go and fight in Libya.

Syrians are hired to fight alongside the forces of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) against the Libyan National Army (LNA), which is led by Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar.

Abdel-Rahman indicated that hundreds of fighters are preparing to go to Qatar for training in camps without knowing where to go after training.

So far, 16,000 Syrian rebels have reached Libya through Turkey; 5,600 of them returned to Syria after their contracts expired while the rest are still in Libya, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Friday.

He claimed that there were still more than 10 thousand Syrian mercenaries in Libya under the direction of the Turkish army for a possible front to tackle oil fields and Sirte.

Abdel Rahman stressed that the Turkish backed Syrian fighters had become fond of the funds granted to them by Turkey and the GNA government, and perhaps also by Qatar to go and fight in Libya with evidence that those returning to Syria are waiting for the opportunity to return to Libya to fight.

Turkey offers a monthly salary of 2,000 U.S. dollars for those who agree to go to Libya on contracts between three and six months, said the Observatory.
