Under the directives of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Forces, and the direct instructions of Prime Minister Osama Hammad, another humanitarian aid convoy was dispatched to the flood-stricken city of Kufra on Monday.

The convoy, which includes essential supplies such as generators and water pumps, aims to alleviate the damage caused by the severe floods and heavy rainfall that have recently impacted the area.

Prime Minister Hammad has been closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the General Command, local authorities, and the Joint Security Room of the Ministry of Interior. He emphasised the importance of unified efforts to ensure the safety of residents, both citizens and displaced individuals, in the severely affected region.

Hammad also instructed relevant ministries to remain vigilant and to provide continuous support to the people of Kufra as they cope with the ongoing challenges. This initiative is part of the Libyan government’s broader efforts to quickly respond to natural disasters and assist citizens during difficult times.

On Tuesday, the Libyan National Army (LNA) commenced an airlift operation to deliver humanitarian and medical aid to the residents of Kufra and its surrounding areas, following severe flooding caused by heavy rains.

This initiative is in line with the directives issued by the LNA’s Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. The aid package includes food supplies, medicines, and medical equipment, along with specialized medical teams to provide healthcare to those injured and affected by the floods.

These efforts reflect the LNA’s commitment to supporting the Libyan people during crises and natural disasters.

The flooding in Kufra has resulted in significant damage, prompting immediate intervention by the LNA. The airlift aims to ensure that essential supplies reach the affected areas swiftly, mitigating the impact of the disaster.
