Libya has signed a cooperation agreement with the French organisation Expertise France, aiming to enhance criminal justice capacities.
The signing ceremony took place during the Tripoli International Fair and the International Prosecutors’ Book Fair, under the patronage of Libyan Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour.
The event was attended by Justice Minister Halima Abdulrahman, President of the Administrative Control Authority Abdullah Qadurbuh, and the Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Members of the judiciary, diplomats, writers, and heads of missions accredited to Libya also participated in the ceremony.
This agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding signed between the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expertise France on 26 October 2021. Its objective is to develop the capacities of the Criminal Research and Training Centre under the Office of the Attorney General and improve the skills of personnel working in criminal justice and judicial management.
The cooperation focuses on creating comprehensive training programmes that blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications. It also seeks to foster experience-sharing between the two countries, further strengthening collaboration across the criminal justice chain.
This initiative reflects Libya’s efforts to enhance judicial efficiency and modernise its justice sector through international partnerships, supporting sustainable development in the legal field.
