Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Al-Taher Al-Baour, met with Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Andrzej Szejna, at the Union for the Mediterranean Foreign Ministers Forum in Spain.

The two discussed potential steps towards reopening the Polish embassy in Tripoli, marking an important move in strengthening diplomatic ties.

The officials expressed mutual interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including political, economic, and cultural domains.

Both ministers acknowledged the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement to facilitate cooperation and shared interests between Libya and Poland.

Discussions also focused on exchanging official visits at the technical and political levels to strengthen dialogue and collaboration. This approach aims to pave the way for a more structured partnership, contributing to regional stability and encouraging investment and collaboration.

With the anticipated reopening of the Polish embassy in Tripoli, Libya could see increased Polish support in areas like trade, education, and cultural exchange. This diplomatic step also signifies Poland’s confidence in Libya’s path towards stabilisation and development.

By agreeing on regular high-level visits, Libya and Poland demonstrate a commitment to solidifying their relationship, fostering a foundation for potential collaboration in the Mediterranean region and beyond.
