The Libyan U-17 national team faced a crushing 7-1 defeat against their Egyptian counterparts in the final round of the North African qualifiers for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. The Egyptian team’s dominant performance on Saturday secured their spot in the continental tournament.

Egypt controlled the match, ending the first half with a 2-0 lead before adding five more goals in the second half. Libya managed to score a lone consolation goal but remained unable to recover from Egypt’s relentless offense.

Egypt’s Journey to Qualification
The Egyptian U-17 team finished the qualifiers with nine points from three victories and one defeat. Their qualification journey began with a 5-1 loss to Morocco in the opening round, followed by a 2-1 victory over Algeria and a narrow 3-2 win against Tunisia.

Final Standings for North African U-17 Qualifiers
1. Egypt – 9 points
2. Morocco – 8 points
3. Tunisia – 7 points
4. Algeria – 4 points
5. Libya – 0 points
The qualifiers featured teams from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, with Egypt emerging as the leader after a strong comeback following their initial setback against Morocco.

Libya’s performance in the qualifiers leaves the team without points, marking a disappointing campaign in their quest for a place in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
