Libya is set to host the inaugural Forbes Middle East Investment Summit in May 2025. This event is the result of a strategic partnership between the Libyan Ministry of Communication and Political Affairs, led by Walid Ellafi, and Forbes Middle East, represented in Libya by JRN Consultancy.

The Summit will serve as a platform to spotlight Libya’s vast untapped potential, attracting international investors and fostering sustainable partnerships across key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, technology, tourism, and agriculture. Libya’s unique geographic location, bridging Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, coupled with its abundant resources and young, dynamic population, positions the country as a gateway for economic collaboration and growth.

“This partnership with Forbes Middle East is a historic moment for Libya,” said HE Walid Ellafi. “It reflects our commitment to attracting global investment and establishing Libya as an emerging hub for sustainable development.”

The event will bring together global leaders, investors, and experts to explore Libya’s opportunities and long-term economic vision. Topics such as renewable energy development, infrastructure modernization, and fostering entrepreneurship will take center stage, aiming to chart a path toward economic diversification and resilience.

Khuloud Al Omian, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Hosting this Summit in Libya is a significant step toward connecting the country with global investors and advancing its economic ambitions. Forbes Middle East is dedicated to fostering growth and collaboration across the region.”

The Summit also represents a broader strategy to enhance Libya’s global image. After years of political instability, Libya is signaling its readiness for business and international partnerships, leveraging its resources and strategic location to rebuild its economy.

“This Summit will catalyze global partnerships and pave the way for investment-driven progress in Libya,” noted Ruwaida Abela Northen, CEO of JRN Consultancy. “It’s a transformative initiative that will position Libya as a key player in the global investment landscape.”

With its focus on sustainable development, the Summit will also emphasize empowering Libyan youth and entrepreneurs, providing them with tools and opportunities to contribute to the nation’s growth. Libya’s tourism potential, rich cultural heritage, and fertile agricultural land will be highlighted alongside plans to diversify its energy sector with renewable initiatives.

The event signals a new era for Libya, demonstrating its commitment to economic recovery, international collaboration, and long-term prosperity. The outcomes of the Summit are expected to solidify Libya’s standing as an emerging economic hub and lay the foundation for transformative growth.
